Beliefs
A brief overview of our doctrine.
We believe in the inspiration of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, the creation of man by the direct act of God, the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his identification as the Son of God, his vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of his blood on the cross, the resurrection of his body from the tomb, his power to save man from sin, the new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit, and the gift of eternal life by the grace of God. Verbal Inspiration of Scriptures
We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments; that they are the sole authority for faith and life, infallible and God-breathed and inerrant, preserved, inspired Word of God for us in the Authorized Version of the King James Bible, and this church is required to use only the Authorized Version of the King James Bible in all of its ministries and teachings. (Matthew 4:4; Romans 10:17; II Timothy 3:16; Psalm 12:6,7; Revelation 22:18,19). (II Timothy 3:16; John 10:35; II Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 119:89)
Genesis Account of Creation
We believe the Genesis account of creation and that what you believe about your origin will determine your philosophy of life. We believe creation was a direct act of God, which included literal days, and that it was instantaneous and miraculous. We believe man was created in the image of God and that all reproduction was “after their kind.” (Genesis 1:1; Job 26:7; Psalm 33:6, 9; John 1:3; Colossians 1:17)
Trinity – The Godhead
We believe in one triune God: the maker, preserver, and ruler of all things, eternally existing in three persons - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, each with distinct personal attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. (Matthew 28:19, 20; John 1:1-3; Genesis 1:26)
The Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is eternally equal with God, that he lived a sinless life on Earth, that he died on Calvary as a satisfactory sacrifice for sinners, that his body was buried in and arose from Joseph's tomb, that he ascended to Heaven and was glorified as a man at God's right hand, that he sent the eternal Spirit on Pentecost to convict the world; to regenerate, indwell, and empower believers and to build the church, that he is coming again for his own and then to set up his kingdom on Earth. (Isaiah 7:14; II Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 1:18-25; Isaiah 53:5; Acts 20:28; II Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 9:28; I Peter 3:18; Matthew 26:28)
Virgin Birth
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost and was miraculously born of Mary, a virgin, as no other person was ever born or can ever be born of a woman. He is both the Son of God and God the Son. (Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:30-35; Isaiah 7:14)
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, that he is the supernatural agent in regeneration in whom all believers are baptized into the body of Christ, that he indwells and seals them unto the day of redemption. (John 14:16-18; 16:7,8)
The Personality of Satan
We believe that Satan is a supernatural person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall, that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man, that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Genesis 3:1-7; II Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2)
Hell
We believe in a literal hell, the lake of fire and brimstone, which shall be the place of eternal punishment of Satan, fallen angels - devils, and the unbelieving dead. (Luke 16:22-26; Revelation 20:12-15 & 21:18)
Heaven
We believe in a literal place called heaven where God’s immediate presence is manifested, where the angels dwell and where the redeemed shall ultimately dwell; from whence Christ descended and to which he ascended again, where he maketh intercession for the saints and from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. (John 14:1-37; Revelation 21)
Salvation
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ "...died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" that he ascended into heaven where as our great High Priest and advocate he ever lives to make intercession for us and that all who believe on his name are justified on the grounds of his shed blood, thereby receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit and eternal life by the grace of God. We believe you are saved by Grace and Faith in Jesus Christ not of works. We believe that the atonement of Christ is not limited, but that God wants all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; that it is not his will that any should perish, but that all come to repentance. (I Corinthians 15:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 10:9-13; Acts 16:31; II Peter 3:9 Ephesians 2:8-9)
The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers
A. We believe that all the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 10:27-29; II Timothy 1:12)
B. We believe that this assurance does not give the believer the privilege of willfully practicing sin without loss of reward. (I Corinthians 3:13-15)
The Church
A. We believe in the one true church, the spiritual body and bride of the Lord Jesus Christ, composed of believers from Jesus’ time to the Rapture, into which believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:22,23; 2:19-22)
B. We believe that the local church is an organization composed of regenerated, baptized believers instituted for the purpose of fellowship, worship, and service. In matters of administration and policy, it is self-governing. (Acts 2:41-47)
The Second Advent of Christ
We believe in the blessed hope; the personal, imminent, and pre-tribulation coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to rapture his church and his second coming after the tribulation to establish his millennial kingdom on Earth. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
